Worth National Title Insurance Company (WNTI) is excited to announce the leadership of its underwriting team with the addition of industry expert Sean Everest.

With the continued growth in the number of agents representing Worth National Title Insurance, the demand on our underwriting staff is immense. This is an opportunity to elevate our outstanding service by bringing on a talented and experienced attorney. Sean Everest joins WNTI with a rich background in the field. His extensive knowledge of the Texas market is crucial to our growth plans. With his diverse experience, it was clear that Sean was the ideal candidate to lead our underwriting team.

Sean’s career in the title industry began at a direct operation in San Antonio, where he gained valuable experience in escrow and title examination. He later moved into the oil and gas industry and also worked as a football coach before returning to the title sector as underwriting counsel for a San Antonio title agency. In addition, he has served as general counsel for a real estate brokerage firm. Sean Everest expressed, “I am excited to return to underwriting and to support the WNTI family of agents with innovative solutions.” George Stablein, WNTIC CEO commented, “Sean’s background in both direct and agency operations gives him a unique insight that will greatly benefit our independent agents. He will be an excellent resource for our agents throughout Texas.”

WNTI is dedicated to providing the high level of service our agents expect, and we are proud to welcome such a skilled professional to our team of industry veterans.

Recently, we have been advised that some lenders are placing requirements in their loan closing instructions that the Creditors’ Rights Exclusion be deleted from the lenders title insurance policy. The Creditors Rights’ Exclusion may not be deleted under any circumstances nor is the addition of affirmative creditors’ rights coverage to be provided.

The Texas Insurance Code Section 2502.006 prohibits any title insurance policy in Texas from providing creditors' rights coverage. Therefore, you may not remove the exclusion for creditors' rights from any Texas policy (Exclusion 4 in the T-1 and Exclusion 6 in the T-1R and T-2), nor may any form of express insurance be provided for creditors’ rights.

Please be careful when reviewing loan closing instructions as they change often, and this request may not be readily apparent.

Feel free to contact your underwriting team at underwriting@worthnational.com if you have any questions.
